Week 4 – Janitor Closet
This week I challenged Matt to pick one of the characters he designed from a previous week, and design an interior space where that character might live… or in my case, where the character is stored!
This took me way too long. I haven’t done much environment work, never mind interior spaces, so I picked a pretty easy perspective and room shape—and then over-compensated by adding a gagillion details…
I’m pretty happy with the result though!

My post this week over at Satchsimp, a weekly concept art challenge me and my friend Matt started!

Challenge accepted! Like Matt I fell back on some favourite subject matter and couldn’t resist doing a steam-punky Robo-Janitor. Oh and there’s a POGs poster because it’s the early 90s.

Finally finished that still-life transformation from before. It’s an altered version of this guy. I actually made a maquette to work from, so this baby is all from life… well except the smoke, I made that up. Couldn’t resist doing my globby smoke that I like to draw…
Anyways, yeah this is also for my Sheridan illustration drawing test. Wish me luck!

For that still-life test the second part is transforming it in some creative way. I saw no other option but this… might tinker with it a bit mire before I draw it, maybe glue-gun stuff on instead of sticky-tac. :p

A character for a project I’m working on. His name is Pik, and he’s a mining engineer in a Steampunk setting.
